                        (THIS IS A LETTER I WROTE FOR A POPULAR WEBSITE,FOR THEIR CAMPAIGN 'PMJI SAMJHOJI' )

Respected sir,
It is a great previlege and oppurtunity to adress a letter directly to you,
coming straight to the point i would like to put to you notice the plight of Indian Women,and the necessary steps that can be taken to immensely change the current situation,drawing your attention to the widely known article 44 of the constitution of India which is embodied under the directive principles of state policy.,as you know it provides for a uniform civil code,which i believe is an urgent necessity to be adopted as soon as possible,there are so many discrepancies and biased laws against women as regards their religion,the laws of marriage,of maintenance etc are based on the religion of a women and not because of she being what nature created her .there is an  urgent need to provide all the women an equal protection of laws as against the so called and sometimes harshly orthodox religious texts(which is pretty much evident is biased against the women). also,providing them equal protection would  strengthen the cause of article 14 or the right to equality as we commonly know it.
secondly,coming to the recent announcement of the GOI about the 'cash transfer' scheme that is to begin from january first,i would like to propose before the govt. that first of all,all the bank accounts be opened in the name of the females of the house,or jointly by both the partners,and there should be a provision that no one person can take out any money without the acceptance of the other,financial autonomy is the way to real freedom,moreover most cash transfer is liable to be used for liquor,gambling,drugs etc if not properly utilised,this would instead of empowering the poor,manifold their problems.(as they would have to buy essentials at market rate)women having a say in the finances and also in the budgetary allowances would improve her stature in the family considerably.

Next i would like to discuss about the provisions of reservation in the local bodies,women may be getting elected due to the reservation,but the real power lies with the males,the concept of 'pradhanpati' wherein the husband is the real power holder,and the women who is elected never attends the meetings,and is just sometimes asked to affix her signature  on the papers,power greedy politicians tend to provide for the bending  of  laws for their benefit,laws should be made, and enforced by the executive wherein the attendance of the elected female seat holder be necessary for the meetings,also more financial powers be given to them by way of decentralisation,till the time the women are not empowered ,the paternalistic society and a few psycho-charged males would continue to attack and degrade them. the women leaders should be given periodical training giving them knowledge of the powers and duties they have to perform,self help groups can be formed,also there may be local institutes set up by the state or central govt wherein the girls are taught self defence techniques apart from regular skill training so that they can work and earn in their free time.
In urban areas,like that in Delhi,the police should be granted more power to deal with the criminals,and eve teasers,as per records 88% of the Indian police consists of the constabulary,which goes through physical training and essentially no skill training is imparted to them,it is just like that in colonial times,so a pragmatic view needs to be taken.laws in the country are not weak,but the implementation mechanisms are way below the accepted limits,cases of molestation be given top priority and be made non bailable offences.also companies employing women (who work after ten in the night) and not provide for a safe transport to them to their places should be taken action against.(which is a statutory duty of the employers,failing which punishment may be imposed).
